Gillen Primary School implements a positive behaviour approach called School Wide Positive Behaviour Support. This approach acknowledges that students come from a diverse range of backgrounds with different expectations. We agree on the expected behaviours at school, based on our values, then we teach and model these behaviours, give students ample opportunities to practice them, acknowledge when they are getting it right and correct when they are struggling. We collect data to help us continue to plan to improve our school.  Our approach is based on the knowledge that all students can learn expected behaviours if taught properly and that every child wants to succeed.
